Dr Nivea Thomas K specializes in Translation Studies and Folklore. She holds an MPhil and PhD from University of Hyderabad. Her doctoral research examined multiple rewritings of a Malayalam legend. She applied perspectives from translation studies and folklore analysis. She has published articles on translation studies and Kerala myths. Her work also covers Dalit studies, discourse analysis, and prison narratives. She is translating the autobiography Haqq: My Rights into English. The original work is authored by N K Muhammed. She was Charles Wallace India Trust Visiting Fellow in 2024. She conducted research at King?s College London during this fellowship. Her current project studies Christian hagiography and oral community narratives. Her research interests include Indian literature and cultural studies. She has been serving as Assistant Professor since the year 2021.
