The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Cell at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bannerghatta Road Campus, is a vibrant student-driven platform dedicated to fostering awareness, action, and innovation aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Through research projects, sustainability literacy initiatives, seminars, and community outreach, the Cell cultivates a culture of responsibility and collaboration to address pressing global challenges.
Recognized as the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) SDG Hub 5 Chair for 2025–2027, CHRIST leads efforts to promote gender equality through education, research, and advocacy. By integrating sustainability into academics and campus life, the Cell empowers students to become ethical leaders and change-makers, driving meaningful impact for a just and sustainable future.

Objectives

    1. Ignite Awareness: Foster sustainability literacy and promote knowledge of the SDGs through innovative campaigns, workshops, and community engagement. Create engaging platforms such as exhibitions, student-led talks, and interactive activities that inspire individuals to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives
    2. Unite for Impact: Build strong partnerships across academia, industries, and communities to drive collaborative, SDG-focused projects. Facilitate cross-campus, inter-institutional, and international collaborations to amplify the scale and impact of SDG-driven initiatives.
    3. Empower Change-Makers: Equip students and stakeholders with the skills, tools, and opportunities to lead impactful sustainability initiatives. Develop mentorship programs and leadership training to nurture ethical, informed, and proactive sustainability champions.

    4. Sustainable Innovation: Encourage research, creative problem-solving, and entrepreneurial approaches that provide long-term, scalable solutions to global challenges. Support interdisciplinary projects and idea incubators that merge technology, business, and social innovation for sustainable development

    5. Transparent Progress: Track, document, and showcase progress in achieving the SDGs, ensuring accountability and inspiring wider participation. Regularly publish reports, host review forums, and celebrate milestones to maintain transparency and motivate continued engagement.
