Where academic learning meets social responsibility — nurturing conscious leaders through community engagement.
The Centre for Service Learning (CSL) is a pivotal initiative under CHRIST (Deemed to be University) that bridges academic theory with tangible community service. Its foundation rests on the belief that experiential learning enhances not only academic excellence but also social consciousness.
Established through the Centre for Social Action and backed by the United Board for Christian Higher Education, CSL functions as a dynamic platform encouraging students to actively engage with society’s pressing needs. It offers students the chance to co-create knowledge by applying classroom learning to real-world contexts, thereby fostering civic responsibility and leadership.
Service-learning is an innovative pedagogical approach that integrates structured academic instruction with socially relevant community service. The process enhances critical thinking, problem-solving, and reflection among students.
Each department applies this methodology according to its curriculum, creating flexible and relevant models. It allows students to work with marginalized communities, NGOs, and institutions—helping them not only understand societal challenges but contribute toward their resolution through informed action. This method transforms learners into leaders with a conscience.
