About the Programme

The Department of International Studies, Political Science and History provides students a solid grounding in the academic study of global relations, world history, domestic and international politics. The department is committed to promoting student understanding of the richness and diversity of human experience across time and across the globe. It emphasizes the development of critical thinking, writing, and communication skills to prepare students for a wide variety of careers, graduate and law school, and lifelong learning. An education in history and political science prepares students to pursue a variety of careers, including education, communication, archaeology, public administration, security/intelligence, research and political office. The department provides students with opportunities for internships, which allow students to work in a public service agency, explore career options within their fields of study and integrate classroom learning with work-related experience. The Department is committed to training students to become competent citizens at home and abroad. The department is home to faculty members whose pedigree - national and international - uniquely positions them to train the next generation of leaders with a keen understanding of the core ideas, historical and political processes, which have shaped and continue to shape societies. As students determine their aptitude and what career path they want to pursue, faculties in the department help them to customize their education to be best prepared for the future. This program is ideal for students passionate about understanding economic phenomena and leveraging data to derive insights for fields such as finance, policy-making, business strategy, and public health. Long-term internships, capstone projects, and collaborations with experts ensure graduates are equipped to lead in economics with the knowledge of data science.
