PhD degree program in commerce is to prepare experienced business professionals to generate use and share knowledge about teaching- learning, human development and to collaborate with others to solve critical educational and human problems in a diverse global community. The program is designed to integrate field experience and academic study through vigorous coursework and research, allowing scholars continuously apply knowledge and skill in field setting and generate practical, relevant questions for issues needing further study.

The MCom programme offers advanced expertise in core commerce subjects, strengthened by creativity, problem-solving, and experiential learning. It emphasizes digital skills through courses in data analytics, Data visualization and dashboarding using Power BI, Python programming, business analytics, Fintech and generative AI. Supplementary certifications in Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) and SAP-FICO, along with corporate or teaching internship and personality development workshops, enhance career readiness. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to enhance their professional qualifications by enrolling in certifications such as the CMA (offered by IMA, USA), CISI (offered by CISI, UK), and courses available through the Bloomberg lab. Students also have an opportunity to opt for international student transfer programme with Virginia Commonwealth University USA and IQS Spain.

The BCom (Applied Finance and Analytics) programme is designed with a dual focus on Finance and Analytics. This programme is specially designed to develop students' analytical skills and enable them to think critically when making financial decisions. The curriculum focuses on combining the knowledge of Finance, Economics, and Statistics using Machine Learning Algorithms. The students will be able to further boost their abilities in analysing financial data, given the backdrop of economic trends, and also build invaluable skills. Students learn advanced courses across finance, catering to careers in Corporate Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Business Valuation and Modelling, Investment Management, Risk Management, Financial Planning, Private Equity, Wealth Management, and Management Consulting. On the Analytics front, students will learn to code and handle complex data sets with algorithms. They’ll learn to use tools such as Python R, VBA, Power BI, SQL, and will develop skills to interpret and convert data into valuable insights and use them to create business strategies and drive business decisions. They will also learn a few courses pertaining to data science techniques, such as predictive modelling, optimization techniques, advanced statistics, and machine learning. In the end, students learn about visualization and presentation of insights. The course is systematically designed with capstone projects specifically to cater to analytics-based courses in various domains such as Retail Web and social media, Supply chain and logistics, Health care, Banking Insurance Finance and Accounting, and start-ups, where industry partners mentor and evaluate the projects along with faculty mentors. At the end of the programme, the student is ready to face the futuristic world with two powerful skill sets pertaining to a highly growing field of Finance and Analytics.
The Programme BCom(Applied Finance and Analytics Honours) is designed in line with the requirements of the National Education Policy (NEP) spanning across eight semesters comprising of Skill Enhancement Courses and Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses, Internships and Project work and Value-Added Courses. Students who complete three years (six semesters) with the necessary credits may exit and be conferred the B.Com. (Applied Finance and Analytics) degree.
Those who complete two years (four semesters) with the required credits and opt to exit will receive a UG Diploma in Accountancy and Taxation. Upon completion of one year (two semesters) with the prescribed credits, students may choose to exit the programme and will be awarded a Certificate.
BCom (Applied Finance and Analytics Honours)
The fourth year will focus on the advanced level of knowledge in the field of Applied Finance and Analytics. The students will have capstone project work in the final semester. The students who complete the fourth year/eighth semester and satisfy the minimum credit requirement as per NEP guidelines will be awarded with a BCom (Applied Finance and Analytics Honours) degree.
BCom (Applied Finance and Analytics with Research)
Students who secure 75% marks and above in the first six semesters and wish to undertake research at the undergraduate level can choose a research stream in the fourth year. They should do a research project or dissertation under the guidance of a faculty member of the
University. The research project/dissertation will be in the major discipline. The students who secure 160 credits including 12 credits from a research project/dissertation will be awarded the BCom (Applied Finance and Analytics Honours with Research) degree.
International Dual Degree Programme with Macquarie University , Australia
Students may opt for the dual degree programme offered in collaboration with Macquarie University, Australia. Under this arrangement, students will complete two years of study at Christ University and the subsequent two years at Macquarie University. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded degrees from both institutions. Participants will gain valuable international exposure through their academic experience in Australia.
The programme is designed to build strong foundation skills required in administering the Business Enterprises Core functions such as Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Marketing and Human Resources including exposure to digital skills in these areas. As per National Education Policy (2020), the programme involves six semesters involving Core courses, Skill Enhancement Courses, Vocational courses and Ability Enhancement Courses
The BCOM programme empowers students to explore a wide range of interests, including Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Banking and Taxation. The curriculum inspires students to delve deeper into specialized areas of interest, develop expertise and a competitive edge. In addition, the programme involves a plethora of co-curricular and extracurricular activities which aim to hone leadership, communication and team-building skills among students.
There has been growing demand for accounting and tax professionals who are proficient and have expertise on Accounting skills, Regulatory aspects, Reporting framework, Taxation of different entities, Budget preparation, Forecasting cash flows and Analysis of Complex Business Transactions. The programme aims to develop industry-ready Accounting and Tax professionals by honing skills in in-demand tools and techniques and standard accounting practices. The programme provides a solid theoretical foundation for critical components like Financial Reporting, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs Procedure, Transfer Pricing Methods, and Cross-Border Tax Compliance issues. The curriculum is designed to inculcate practical skills with a strong theoretical foundation to handle compliance issues with regulatory aspects.
During the programme, students will have the option to undergo training for the EA (Enrolled Agent) Certification Examination conducted by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the revenue authority of the United States. They will also have the option to pursue the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) course alongside their undergraduate studies. These optional professional certifications will enhance students’ career prospects and provide exposure to global taxation and auditing practices. The training for these certifications will be offered at an additional cost.

Students who complete all eight semesters, fulfilling the minimum credit requirements as prescribed under the NEP guidelines, will be awarded the prestigious B.Com (Accountancy and Taxation) – Honours / Honours with Research degree, reflecting academic excellence and professional readiness.
BCom (Honours with Research)
Students who secure 75% marks and above in the first six semesters and demonstrate a keen interest in academic inquiry may opt for the Research Stream in the fourth year. During the fourth year, they will be exposed to both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, along with the use of analytical tools and techniques for data analysis, thereby strengthening their research competence, critical thinking, and evidence-based decision-making skills. Under this stream, students will undertake a Research Project/Dissertation in the accountancy/taxation/audit domain guided by an experienced faculty member of the University. The BCom (Strategic Finance/Honours/Honours with research) programme caters to commerce aspirants who wish to build their professional expertise in financial planning, analysis, control, decision support, and professional ethics – skills in demand worldwide by organisations. The curriculum is benchmarked with the globally recognised Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification, awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). IMA is a US-based worldwide association for accountants and financial professionals.
The faculty panel for this programme includes professionals with CMA/CPA qualifications and industry experience. The assessment pattern is a blend of regular written and online examinations aligned with the professional assessment pattern. This programme will help students pursue and complete the US CMA certification either with or after graduation. The IMA (USA) awarded Endorsed School status to the BCom (Strategic Finance/Honours/ Honours with Research) programme for meeting the IMA’s Higher Education Quality Standards in the year 2021.
BCom (Finance and Investment) programme is designed for students who wish to acquire advanced knowledge in Finance and Investment and prepares them for a career within the broad frame of the financial sector, including profiles related to Investment Banking, Financial Management, Equity and Debt Management, Commercial Banking, Insurance Underwriting, Risk Management, and Management Consulting. The programme’s curriculum is set at an ‘advanced’ level for finance and investment.
The programme equips students with the skills to undertake financial analysis and to create and comprehend investment strategies to navigate the intricate landscape of global finance and investments adeptly. It nurtures students with expertise in specific domains, such as stock market investment and trading, portfolio management, private equity, equity research, equity management, and alternative investments. Students become adept at making financial decisions as individuals, companies, or venture capital firms by using knowledge of Corporate Finance, Corporate Valuation, and Advanced Financial Modelling. Unique features of BCom (F&I) programme are:
Finance & Investment training tracks (Two Levels spread across two semesters) - Semester 1 - Foundation Level (Mandatory for all students); Semester 2 - Intermediate Level (Mandatory for all students). These tracks, led by industry practitioners, cover advanced topics in Quantitative Finance, Financial Modelling, Equity Research, Technical Analysis, and related areas, equipping students with skills to prepare for Global Finance and Investment certifications and enhance their internship opportunities.
In addition, students must complete the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) Level I, II, and III. This professional certification ensures they receive comprehensive industry preparation and become eligible for Associate Membership (ACSI) of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, facilitating entry into professional roles in investment advisory, wealth management, financial services operations, and risk management.
Furthermore, the programme has established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, to offer a Dual Degree Programme in Bachelor of Commerce (Major in Finance), providing BCom (Finance & Investment) students with valuable international academic exposure.
Bachelor of Commerce (Work Integrated) is an innovative forward-looking undergraduate program that aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of the key functional areas of Commerce. Prioritizing students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, this program combines teaching fundamentals of commerce with hands-on training, allowing students to make better decisions. In line with the National Education Policy (2020), the programme involves six semesters involving Core courses, Skill Enhancement Courses, Value Added Courses, Ability Enhancement Courses and Work Integrated Learning Practicums (WILP).
The program shall have multiple exit option at the end of Second and Fourth semesters. The students who successfully complete one year and opt to exit the program will be awarded a UG Certificate. The students who successfully complete two years and opt to exit the program will be awarded UG Diploma in Commerce. The students who successfully complete three years and satisfy the minimum credit requirement will be eligible for award of the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (Work Integrated).
